PE37 Moving Bed Sequencing Batch Biofilm Reactor 25*10mm MBBR for Sewage Treatment Plant 

MBBR is a new type of biofilm reactor, which is an improved composite biofilm reactor developed on the basis of fixed bed reactor, fluidized bed reactor, and biofilter. It overcomes the shortcomings of fixed bed reactors requiring regular backwashing, fluidized bed reactors requiring carrier fluidization, submerged biofilter clogging requiring cleaning of filter media and replacement of aerators, while retaining the characteristics of traditional biofilm methods such as resistance to impact loads, low sludge production, and long sludge age. Compared with the activated sludge method, due to its longer sludge age, it can maintain more nitrifying bacteria and has better denitrification efficiency. The main principle is to use sewage to continuously flow through the reactor packing carrier, forming a biofilm on the carrier. Microorganisms multiply and grow on the biofilm, while degrading organic pollutants in the sewage, thereby purifying the sewage

Work Principle

The principle of MBBR process is to increase the biomass and biological species in the reactor by adding a certain amount of suspended carrier to the reactor, thereby improving the processing efficiency of the reactor. Since the density of the filler is close to that of water, it is completely mixed with water during aeration, and the environment for microbial growth is gas,liquid, and solid three-phase. The collision and shearing of the carrier in the water make the air bubbles smaller and increase the utilization rate of oxygen. In addition, each carrier has different biological species inside and outside, some anaerobic bacteria or facultative bacteria grow inside, and the outside is eutrophic bacteria, so that each carrier is a microreactor, so that nitrification reaction and denitrification reaction coexist , thereby improving the processing effect.

It allows MBBR systems to resist shock loading or a sudden spike in pH levels. A 2014 study of MBBR demonstrated the system's ability to remain highly stable when faced with organic, hydraulic and salt shock loadings and to quickly return to normal.

5.Efficient:
One of the most significant advantages of MBBR is its impressive level of efficiency. An MBBR system can work much more quickly than alternative methods to treat the water. The hydraulic retention time (HRT) for BOD and nitrogen removal with an MBBR is around three to four hours. The continuously moving media and the sheer amount of biofilm make this low HRT
