The trough liquid distributor is a high-performance liquid distributor used in the feed section of the packing tower. The trough liquid distributor has the advantages of easy installation, uniform liquid distribution, high spray point density, and extremely low pressure drop, and is currently widely used. A slot type liquid distributor is usually composed of a distribution groove (also known as a main groove or a primary groove) and a distribution groove (also known as a secondary groove or a secondary groove). The first stage slot initially divides the liquid into several streams through holes at the bottom of the slot, and distributes them to the liquid distribution slot below. The bottom (or wall) of the distribution slot is equipped with holes (or conduits) to evenly distribute the liquid on the packing layer. The slot type liquid distributor has great operating flexibility and excellent anti fouling and blocking performance. Especially suitable for separation platforms with atmospheric liquid loads and high viscosity liquids containing solids as floats. Due to its excellent distribution performance and anti fouling performance, it has a wide range of applications.

Feature

 

In order to improve the uniformity of fluid distribution in the pre distribution pipe of the trough liquid distributor, the uniform opening is changed into two opening modes, namely, non-uniform opening I and non-uniform opening (pressure relief opening) II. With the help of computational fluid dynamics software FLUENT, the k- ε The model numerically simulates and solves its three-dimensional flow field. The analysis shows that changing the diameter of the opening and adding a pressure relief hole results in the most uniform distribution of flow rate, static pressure, and turbulent kinetic energy in each hole, making it suitable for engineering operations.
