Honeycomb ceramics are made from a variety of materials. The main materials are: cordierite, mullite, aluminum titanate, activated carbon, silicon carbide, activated alumina, zirconia, silicon nitride and cordierite-mullite, cordierite-aluminum titanate composite matrix.Honeycomb ceramics are composed of numerous equal holes of various shapes, and the mesh holes are mainly triangular and quadripartite, and the triangle is better than the quadripartite, and the number of holes is more, which is especially important as a catalytic carrier.
Honeycomb ceramics can be divided into four categories according to the use of heat storage, filler, catalyst carrier and filter material.
Honeycomb ceramic heat storage body heat capacity of more than 1000kJ/kg, product temperature ≥1700ºC, in the heating furnace, roaster, soaking furnace, cracking furnace and other kilns can save more than 40% of the fuel, the output is higher than 15%, the emission gas temperature is lower than 150ºC.
Regenerative Thermal/Catalytic Oxidizer (RTO/RCO) are used to destroy Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and odorous emissions etc, which are extensively applied in the fields of Automotive paint, Chemical industry, Electronic & Electric Manufacturing industry, Contact Combustion System, and so on. Ceramic Honeycomb is specified as structured regenerative media of RTO/RCO.
