Product Description

KDF55 Media is alloy of copper and zinc which used in water filtration applications. It is desing-ed specially for removing or reducing chlori-ne and water -soluble heavy metals. It could controls scale,bacteria and algae,even in hot water.

KDF 55 Media could produce eletricity exchange reaction and remove heavy metal ,cop-per,lead,mer-cury ,ar-senic etc. It widely used along with activated carbon to maximise the filter efficiency.Generally KDF55 Media is used in a purification system as a prefilter,before finer stage of filtra-tion, such as ,reverse osmosis,deionization and ion exchange systems.

There are six main functions:

Work princeple:

The effect of KDF treatment medium on calcium carbonate scale has two aspects: according to the relationship between pH value, carbon dioxide concentration, and calcium carbonate solubility, when carbon dioxide is removed from the solution, the pH value increases, resulting in a decrease in the solubility of calcium carbonate. KDF also increases the pH value of water through electrochemical reactions, reducing the solubility of calcium carbonate, resulting in the precipitation of calcium carbonate; On the other hand, due to the leakage of zinc ions from KDF, the content of zinc ions in the water has increased. The existence of zinc ions in the water can change the crystal formation mechanism of scale, so that calcium carbonate scale in the water will precipitate in the form of aragonite crystal, forming soft scale on the vessel wall, rather than the hard scale crystallized as calcite, which is easy to be washed away.
